Ashley Dhaim is a fifth year PhD student in the Center for the Ecological Study of Perception and Action (CESPA) at UConn. She earned her B.A. in psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in 2015. Her current research is asking how social cognition and social coordination in children come to develop and interact with one another. Her other research interests include interpersonal synchrony, dynamical systems, social affordances, and learning.
Shireena McGee
Shireena is a 4th year PhD student in the developmental psychology program and started in the lab in the fall of 2016. Her research interests involve gaining a better understanding of how the relationships among the cognitive mechanisms involved in problem-solving change over the course of development. She is particularly interested in using this information to influence the designs of specific learning contexts, both formally (e.g., school systems) and informally (e.g., science museums). Currently, she is working on a project that uses eye-tracking methodologies to investigate how changes in the dynamics of working memory and information gathering shape developmentally appropriate capacities for problem-solving.
